Beware, many a good card is ruined at this hole, which is Silverdale’s signature hole and one which gained some degree of fame after being featured in a book named “Britain’s 100 Extraordinary Golf Holes”. A good drive into the valley leaves an intimidating approach shot to a green guarded by a limestone rock face. Now known as “The Plateau” it was formerly more imaginatively labelled by some “The Pulpit” and once you have played it you will understand why.
